Harry Potter's sidecar creates buzz in Gloucestershire

Watsonian Squire, in Blockley, made the blue Manx sidecar used by Harry Potter to escape from the evil Dementors in part one of the final movie. The accompanying Royal Enfield motorcycle, ridden by Hagrid, was also supplied by the Cotswold company.

"When the film launches we hope that people start a revival in the sidecar business," said director Ben Matthews. 'Very exciting'

Watsonian Squire has been making sidecars for nearly 100 years and now exports them around the world. For the film the sidecars were paired with new Royal Enfield 500cc motorcycles, which the company also distributes.

"It's all very exciting and it's only in the last few weeks that we've realised how much of a feature the sidecar is in the film," said Mr. Matthews.
